Assignment: You will make a six-page stepbook (including cover) that displays your knowledge of the Ancient India unit objectives. For each page, be sure to include at least: one paragraph of information, one picture with a caption and border (either drawn or from the internet) and a symbol for each page.

Front Cover: The title “Ancient India” and illustrations related to ancient India.

Back Cover: Normal heading (Name, date, core class, teacher, assignment title = “Ancient India Stepbook”)

Choose 5 of the following topics to include in your stepbook. Use the paragraphs we have written in class as well as information and illustrations from your book. You are also encouraged to find additional information via class books, encyclopedias, the Internet, magazines, and the Media Center.

Topics: Geography, Stable Food Supply, Social Structure, Written Language, Religion, Achievements (Arts/Architecture & Technology)

Rubric

For your neatness grade I will be looking for the following:
• Straight cutting lines
• Limited glue marks (don’t over do it)
• Effort with artwork (nice coloring, trace outlines of art in black pen, etc)
• Staples in the proper location
• Paper glued on straight

In other words, take your time to do the best job on this project that you can, don’t try to finish everything the night before it’s due. Although you will have class time, you will be expected to do some work for homework. I recommend getting started on this early. You may bring it to class to have me check it, and it’s always a good idea to have another adult check your work at home if possible.
