The writing process is very simple to use but can take a lot of work to perfect. Once you understand the writing process, it's helpful to know the traits many writers rely on to get their work published.
The Writing Process
Prewriting - brainstorm, web, choose topic, think!
Writing - get your initial thoughts written on paper.
Revising - recheck your work, rewrite sections you want to develop further.
Editing - eliminate errors from spelling, grammar usage, punctuation, etc.
Publishing - create your final writing piece.
The Traits Good Writers Use:
Ideas
- What are you going to write about, specifically?
Organization - How are you going to present your idea?
Voice - What tone will you be using?
Word Choice
- What words will be used to communicate your idea perfectly?
Sentence Fluency - Do your sentences sound good?
Conventions - Make sure you don't have any errors? Edit, edit, edit!
